Marvin & Teresa Miller have walked in the special eduation and now adult needs community since our adult daughter was born with Down Syndrome. Our life experiences as parents of a child with a disability and our work in education remind us to keep things simple as we work towards human flourishing and the best life for all.
Marvin teaches the Autism Focus / Communication Disorder class at Campus High School (Haysville USD 261). Marvin also teaches as an adjunct instructor in the Masters of Special Education program for Fort Hays State University.
In 2024, KASEA (Kansas Association of Special Educator Administrators) presented him as the Kansas Special Education Professional of the year.
Marvin is active in the Wichita, Kansas special needs / disability community, co-founding the AGK Enabled Disability Ministry He currently serves on the boards of Ability Point, Unstoppable God Ministries, and the Transition Council for South Central Kansas.
He was first appointed to the KSDE Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) in 2014.
Marvin also volunteers as an appointed Educational Advocate for students in foster care.
In 2024, Marvin ran for Kansas State Board of Education.
Marvin has spent two decades in both private and public education. He holds his doctorate from Evangel University (AGTS), with course work in special education from Cal State Los Angeles and Pitt State University (KS).
Teresa currently teaches Secondary ESOL in the Haysville USD 261 district. Prior to this assignment, she worked as an instructional coach, serving on multiple SIT teams, and spent nearly two decades as an elementary teacher.
While in Southern California, she was the recipient of the 2010 University of Southern California PDK Presidents Award.
She has attended and presented at numerous educational conferences across the country.
Her graduate research work has focused on students with Emotional Disability and Special Education Teacher Retention. She has an MA in Educational Administration and doctoral course work at Wichita State
